On January 11, the China Confucius Foundation(CFC)'s "Filial Piety Project·Happiness Canteen" public welfare project and it’s Confucius School inaugurationceremony was held in Yucheng City.
The Happiness Canteen, located in Xindian Town and Xinzhai Town , were jointly funded by Shandong Agricultural Development Credit Guarantee Co.,Ltd and Shandong FinancingGuarantee Group Co.,Ltd.At the donation ceremony,the two companies signed a donation agreement with the China Confucius Foundationand the donation check were tranfered to the Yucheng Civil Affairs Bureau.
The "Filial Piety Project · Happy Canteen" and Confucius School are two public welfare brand projects establishedby the China Confucius Foundation and Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies. “Happy Canteen”aims to promote the traditional Chinese virtue of filial piety and respect for the elderly, implement the national strategy of coping with the aging population, create a harmonious atmosphere of respecting the elderly, caring for the elderly, co-governance and sharing, and solve the problem of diningfor the elderly, widows and widowers, and those living alone. Confucius Schoolsinherit and carry forward fine traditional Chinese culture through the dissemination of classics, public courses, exchange training and other means. To date, 3,300 Confucius School have been approved and established in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities as well as 17 overseas countries and regions, and more than 50,000 cultural activities have been held in total, becoming an important carrier for the dissemination of fine traditional Chinese culture.
As the first newly built "Happiness Canteen" in 2024, China Confucius Foundation will simultaneously establish the Confucius School and the Happiness Canteen in Yucheng,Dezhoucity, synchronize the planning, construction and operation of the two projects, spread and promote the finetraditional Chinese culture through various forms, so as to help the governance of the countryside and comprehensively improve the cultural atmosphere and spiritual outlook of the countryside.
